The emerging proposals include a mixture of private and communal amenity spaces.
Communal amenity spaces
The communal amenity spaces includes a large communal courtyard for residents of the building. Existing residents of the area will benefit from a new green habitat along Whitton Avenue and improved landscaping to the east of the building.
The landscape proposals for Wood End Library will build on the theme of learning.
Learning references the existing use of the site as a library, the nearby schools and the inclusion of a community provision on site. Learning will be expressed in the landscape through:
Green learning - by embedding growing and gardening learning opportunities in the courtyard
Nature learning - by introducing a new green habitat to Whitton Avenue that doubles up as a nature education space
Heritage learning - by embedding the history of the site into the streetscape to the east of the building
